Neolucanus punctulatus Nguyen et Schenk,2013

This new species was described by Nguyen and Schenk on Beetles World journal, No 7 in 2013 based on 12 males and 1 female. Type specimens were collected from Ba Na forest area, Da Nang, South center of Vietnam. Maybe its distribution also extent to Bach Ma, Thua Thien Hue because the two ranges of mountains are connected together.

Neolucanus punctulatus is small size beetle, name of the species is idea of first author of the species, Mr. Quangthai Nguyen, with meaning "punctured", because the surface of body of the species strongly punctured.

N. punctulatus is closed to its related species N. guiardi that found from Laos.
