This species is a rare Lucanus that found from North Vietnam, it very close to Lucanus fujitai that was described by Katsura and his wife (Doan Lan Giang) in 2002.

The species mainly difference from its close species (L. fujitai) with stronger mandibles, larger and more pronounced posterolateral corners of the cephalic lobes. And the aedaegus with longer flagellum, shorter and thinner median lobe and longer apically curved parameres.
The species was described by Shinji Nagai in 1999 based on specimens that collected from South Vietnam. Not same to other species of the genus, the species is small size and about the size of species of Xylotrupes genus.
The male of the species distinguished with 2 horns on the pronotum, the horn of the head vary with bifid or point apex.
The type locality of the species is Lam Dong Province, South Center of Vietnam.

A species of Geometridae family, in which most of the members are night flying moths, however this species is a day flying moth with colorful wings. They found from India to Japan and South East Asia. There are four subspecies that have been drescribed: Milionia zonea zonea (North East India, Myanmar to Vietnam), Milionia zonea nishiyamai (found in Leyte Island), Milionia zonea pryeri (found in Japan to Taiwan and Hainan China), Milionia zonea sharpei (found from Malaysia, Borneo and Sumatra area).

Rhaetulus crenatus Weswood, 1871 was recorded from Vietnam with two subspecies: Rhaetulus crenatus kawanoi Maes, 1996 from North Vietnam; and Rhaetulus crenatus tsutsuii Fujita, 2009 from South and Center of Vietnam.

Macrodorcas melliana (Kriesche, 1921) was found from North Vietnam and South China, it is beautiful species with red brownish hair on inner side of mandibles.
Dorcus magdeleinae Lacroix, 1972 were know with 4 subspecies and 2 of them were recorded from Vietnam: Dorcus magdeleinaemagdeleinae Lacroix, 1972 was confirmed from Sa Pa, Lao Cai, North Vietnam and Dorcus magdeleinaelieni Maeda, 2012 from South Center of Vietnam. However the number of subspecies still unclear because of a long border with China, some Chinese subspecies maybe can be found also from Vietnam.
Aegus taurus Boileau, 1899 was known as Aegus beauchenei Boileau, 1902, however recently the A. beauchenei was treated as synonym of A. taurus. The species was found in North Vietnam and South China. Type specimens were collected from Bao Lac and Dong Van, North Vietnam (Tonkin).
Odontolabis siva (Hope & Westwood, 1845) is shinning black species of the genus, there 2 forms of male: large male with long, strange mandibles and small male with short mandibles.
They found in high land mountain of North, Center and South Vietnam.
